I believe we are all on a journey of personal development and discovery.
My journey began at the age of four when I decided to leave home—for reasons I no longer remember. I walked down to the sidewalk and, not knowing which way to go, sat on my little brown suitcase, filled with my stuffed lamb, a pink sweater, and a picture book. Immediately, my resolve was replaced by doubt. I had no clue what to do. After a while, I walked back up the hill and was welcomed home.
I think our lives are filled with these false starts, when we feel something beckoning, but don’t know where to begin.
My journey continued with a passion for far-flung travel, a fascination with our shared human condition, and eventually a career in international policy. However, at my professional peak, as the head of a mid-career master’s program, I found myself most interested in talking with students about their lives. While I had become an expert in international policy solutions that integrated diverse sectors and disciplines, I was increasingly drawn to translating it all to the level of the individual.
I realized I wanted to help people find greater aliveness, authenticity, and purpose—and that meant starting with myself. When the pandemic isolated us all at home, I took the opportunity to train and become a Certified Integral Coach.
In 2022, inspired in part by my newfound clarity, I decided to walk a portion of the Camino de Santiago, the historic pilgrimage trail in northwestern Spain. Wandering along the well-worn path, I was guided by yellow arrows at every possible intersection. I thought, wouldn’t it be nice if we had yellow arrows to point the way forward in our everyday lives, and then I remembered that we do.
There is an inner voice, a deeper knowing, in each of us that can help us see the way if we are quiet and still enough to listen.
I am here to help you listen.
You have only to let the soft animal of your body love what it loves.
